Deep Reset - Restore your nervous system with Breathwork, Yoga and Gong bath

Deep Reset - Restore your nervous system with Breathwork, Yoga and Gong bath

9th January, 7-9:30pm

Join us for a restorative evening of somatic Yoga, cleansing Breathwork and a deeply relaxing Gong bath to release tension from your body and mind, reset your nervous system, activate and nourish your inner being and your connection to yourself. Wherever you find yourself in the moment, you will be welcomed and held exactly as you are. The sessions are slightly different each month as we explore various practices and themes.

  • The doors open at 7.00pm so you have time to arrive, chat and settle down before we start promptly at 7.15pm

  • We will slow down, breathe deeply and take time to connect and set our intentions for the evening

  • Then we stretch out and land fully into our bodies with a gentle yoga practice, especially designed to nourish your vagus nerve and activate the parasympathetic nervous system - the perfect way to unwind after a long week and switch from ‘doing’ into ‘being’, the regeneration mode where joy and healing are easily accessible

  • Followed by breath work to fully oxygenate our bodies, wash away all the accumulated stress, tension and move any stuck energies. Fell alive, tingly with new calmness and clarity

  • Then it’s your time to fully let go and relax, receive the deep rest you so much deserve, while being bathed in the powerful sound of gong. Allow the vibrations to resonate through your body and travel to places that need healing

  • Integration time: we rest in silence before using sounding practice to ground ourselves

Water colour class with Rachel Williams

Watercolour Classes with Rachel Williams

I discovered the magic of watercolour when I was 4 and my Dad gave me his paints to play with, and my enthusiasm for watercolour remains undimmed. I am a practicing artist and teacher of many years.

Watercolour is a captivating and flexible medium that is easy to work with. In the classes I teach colour mixing, tone, composition and drawing as well as all techniques associated with watercolour. I also advise on brushes and paper, and there's always a chance to try charcoal, pastel or ink.

My classes offer a fun exploration into making successful pictures with the emphasis on free expression, discovery and enjoyment. Students work from photographs and still life, and lots of choice is available.

All abilities are welcomed, and beginners find they make rapid strides, as I can demonstrate how simple it can be. I can supply all materials initially.

Taster sessions are offered for £20, and the cost for the 12 week term is £240

The class starts at 9 30 and ends at 12 30, with good coffee, tea  and biscuits halfway through our morning.

Batheaston and St. Catherine Community Energy Workshop
Feb
3

Batheaston and St. Catherine Community Energy Workshop

Free workshop • Food provided • No expertise needed

Whether you’re curious, cautious, or concerned, this workshop is for you. Together we’ll explore realistic scenarios for renewable energy in Batheaston and St. Catherine, and the possible benefits of community ownership. It’s a chance for local residents to share ideas, ask questions and shape what energy could look like in your area. Run by the Centre for Sustainable Energy as part of the Energy in Your Community project, the evening is open to everyone.

Enjoy a cold buffet and hot drinks from 6pm, then join us from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for an inspiring evening of conversation and collaboration.

You don’t need any prior knowledge, everything will be explained step by step in clear, jargon-free language.

What we’ll do together

  • Talk about your local landscape – what feels precious and what could change. Learn the basics of community energy infrastructure like solar panels and wind turbines.

  • Explore potential locations based on local sun and wind resources.

  • Discuss how your areas could benefit financially from community-owned energy projects.

Why it matters

  • Community-led energy keeps profits local, funding facilities and projects that matter to you.

  • Local voices shape solutions that work for everyone, tackling climate change and creating funds to support local people with energy costs.

  • Community ownership means decisions stay in your hands, not a commercial developer’s.

Funding is available now for Batheaston and St. Catherine residents to pursue community energy infrastructure. It doesn’t need to be all figured out at once, though – this workshop is a first step, and if the community would like to take it further, next steps would be shaped by local people.

Our commitment

We start by listening. No decisions are made without your input.

What happens next

  • An online summary of the workshop discussion will be shared publicly. A survey will be available for those who couldn’t attend to add their thoughts and ideas.

  • A final report will be produced in Spring.

  • Further conversations will gather wider community views, and if there’s support, future workshops will take your ideas forward.

What is Energy in Your Community?

Communities can help to shape the way energy is produced and used in their area. Energy in Your Community is a project to support local people exploring and developing community-owned renewable energy suited to their area. It is part of the Community Energy Network, a partnership supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council, Bath & West Community Energy, the Centre for Sustainable Energy and the University of Bath. The aim is to support 5MW of community-owned renewable generation across the district by 2030.

Circus Extravaganza

A pop up circus is coming to Batheaston

After their sold out debut event last February Circus Extravaganza are thrilled to be coming back to Batheaston this February Half Term. Last year there was 3 of us. This year we are hoping to make it 4 of us with some really exciting new elements and some of the old favourites. An interactive performance that welcomes audience participation from the children in the crowd will leave you beaming from ear to ear and deliver a really special family memory in your local area.

The show is equally popular for 2 year olds as it is with 12 year olds.

Spread the word, the quicker the ticket sales, the bigger the show gets!

Doors will open 30 minutes before your performance and there will be a free circus workshop up until 5 minutes before the show.

Showtimes are 11, 1 and 3

A tuck shop with light refreshments will be available up until showtime.

A circus skills shop will also be available for those wishing to brush up on their plate spinning!

Check out some of our recent google reviews...

'Highly entertaining and great fun. My son absolutely loved it. I would recommend the show highly'

'What a brilliant Show. The whole family could not take there eyes off the stage. Jony and Albert were great with the children pre show with the workshop. My boys have not stopped talking about it and practicing.'

'wow I can’t put into words how magical this was. I was completely blown away with the talent! But even more than that how lovely you all are. My daughter who is only 2 absolutely loved your show and I was crying at the end as she got up on stage with you all 🥹 To see something like this means so much, taking us away from our phones, social media / screens etc and just be in the moment having fun and creating magic! I normally miss out on a lot as I have unsociable hours but this later showing at 3 pm on a saturday meant I could go with my daughter and my daughters friend and share memories forever :) thank you 🙏

Solsbury Sings Community Choir

Solsbury Community Choir is a friendly mixed choir, open to everyone and with all singing abilities welcome. We sing a wide range of songs in different styles and from around the world, all chosen to help put a smile on your face and a spring in your step!

We learn everything by ear - there's no need at all to read music. Our number one priority is to have fun.

Our choir is:

  • Inclusive – for all singing abilities, from complete beginners through to keen/regular singers, with no auditions

  • About our natural voices – songs taught ‘a cappella’ (just voices) and by ear

  • Mindful – with the emphasis on singing for fun within the group, rather than for performance

  • Supportive – a nurturing environment where everyone feels encouraged to have a go

Singing is led by Cathy Crozier-Cole. We meet on Monday evenings during term time from 7.30-8.45pm, in Batheaston New Village Hall.
