Water colour class with Rachel Williams
Watercolour Classes with Rachel Williams
I discovered the magic of watercolour when I was 4 and my Dad gave me his paints to play with, and my enthusiasm for watercolour remains undimmed. I am a practicing artist and teacher of many years.
Watercolour is a captivating and flexible medium that is easy to work with. In the classes I teach colour mixing, tone, composition and drawing as well as all techniques associated with watercolour. I also advise on brushes and paper, and there's always a chance to try charcoal, pastel or ink.
My classes offer a fun exploration into making successful pictures with the emphasis on free expression, discovery and enjoyment. Students work from photographs and still life, and lots of choice is available.
All abilities are welcomed, and beginners find they make rapid strides, as I can demonstrate how simple it can be. I can supply all materials initially.
Taster sessions are offered for £25, and the cost for the 12 week term is £300
The class starts at 9 30 and ends at 12 30, with good coffee, tea and biscuits halfway through our morning.
for more info email Rachel rachelmoya@googlemail.com
Guided Meditation
Guided Meditation session for all levels of experience, from beginners to those with an existing meditation practice.
Starting with a series of mindful practices for relaxation and focus.
Moving into a visualisation and deeper meditation.
Including contemplations, teachings and reflections.
Mindful practices include seated movement for tension release, gentle breathwork, and techniques to calm the mind and strengthen awareness. All practices work with restoring the nervous system back into equilibrium and are very supportive for those who experience stress and anxiety.
The visualisations and deeper meditations help with self-connection and healing. The contemplations and teachings aid this process and are offered as ‘food for thought’, to nourish the mind and provide points for self-reflection.

25 March
8 April
22 April
(more dates TBC)
£14 per session
Please book in advance

Immerse yourself in a deeply relaxing one-hour gong and sound bath designed to calm the nervous system, quiet the mind and restore balance to the body.
As you lie comfortably, you’ll be bathed in the soothing vibrations of gongs and other therapeutic instruments. These resonant sounds can help release tension, ease stress, and encourage a meditative state—often described as a full-body reset.
No experience is needed—simply come, get comfortable, and allow yourself to rest.

For your comfort, please bring:
• A yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on
• A blanket (your body temperature may drop as you relax)
• A cushion or pillow
• An eye mask or scarf (for deeper relaxation)
• A bottle of water

Climate and nature crisis - film and discussion
Climate and nature crisis - film and discussion. Where do we go from here?
Mon 29 Jun 2026 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Last November leading UK experts delivered a National Emergency Briefing (NEB) about the climate and nature crisis to MPs, peers and business leaders. The NEB organisers have made a 50-minute documentary version, the People's Emergency Briefing, for screening throughout the UK.
Grow Batheaston invites you to a screening and discussion about the actions we want from our representatives and the actions we can take.
This important film is being screened in hundreds of venues all over the UK. Now there’s an opportunity to see it in Batheaston.
Spaces are limited (and we need to know how many biscuits to bring) so do please reserve a ticket.
Free event. But please reserve your space here https://www.tickettailor.com/events/growbatheaston/2216305
Doors open 7.00pm for 7.30pm start.

Village Fete
Come to the Batheaston Fete in July and you will see the brightly coloured ribbons of the maypole, blankets spread on the grass with families enjoying freshly cooked burgers, children eating ice creams, a crowd chatting over a beer or glass of prosecco and people moving from stall to stall clutching coconuts, jars of sweets or a homemade cake.
The community comes together as church, school, Brownies, Scouts and other village groups gather to celebrate. Eagerly anticipated by all, this traditional fete promises fun for the whole family, including a barbeque and bar to refresh hungry fete-goers.
The fete will be held in the Batheaston New Village Hall and the adjacent Church field. The field will be filled as usual with many different kinds of stalls and games, including skittles, children’s games, plants, books, tombola, delicious homemade cakes, cream teas and ice-creams.

Solsbury Sings Community Choir
Solsbury Community Choir is a friendly mixed choir, open to everyone and with all singing abilities welcome. We sing a wide range of songs in different styles and from around the world, all chosen to help put a smile on your face and a spring in your step!
We learn everything by ear - there's no need at all to read music. Our number one priority is to have fun.
Our choir is:
Inclusive – for all singing abilities, from complete beginners through to keen/regular singers, with no auditions
About our natural voices – songs taught ‘a cappella’ (just voices) and by ear
Mindful – with the emphasis on singing for fun within the group, rather than for performance
Supportive – a nurturing environment where everyone feels encouraged to have a go
Singing is led by Cathy Crozier-Cole. We meet on Monday evenings during term time from 7.30-8.45pm, in Batheaston New Village Hall.

Deep Reset - Restore your nervous system with Breathwork, Yoga and Gong bath
Deep Reset - Restore your nervous system with Breathwork, Yoga and Gong bath d
Join us for a restorative evening of somatic Yoga, cleansing Breathwork and a deeply relaxing Gong bath to release tension from your body and mind, reset your nervous system, activate and nourish your inner being and your connection to yourself. Wherever you find yourself in the moment, you will be welcomed and held exactly as you are. The sessions are slightly different each month as we explore various practices and themes.
The doors open at 7.00pm so you have time to arrive, chat and settle down before we start promptly at 7.15pm
We will slow down, breathe deeply and take time to connect and set our intentions for the evening
Then we stretch out and land fully into our bodies with a gentle yoga practice, especially designed to nourish your vagus nerve and activate the parasympathetic nervous system - the perfect way to unwind after a long week and switch from ‘doing’ into ‘being’, the regeneration mode where joy and healing are easily accessible
Followed by breath work to fully oxygenate our bodies, wash away all the accumulated stress, tension and move any stuck energies. Fell alive, tingly with new calmness and clarity
Then it’s your time to fully let go and relax, receive the deep rest you so much deserve, while being bathed in the powerful sound of gong. Allow the vibrations to resonate through your body and travel to places that need healing
Integration time: we rest in silence before using sounding practice to ground ourselves
