WALKING FOREST WARMLY INVITES YOU to an information sharing & ‘potluck’ lunch in Batheaston Village Hall* On Monday Dec 15th 12.30-3pm
Are you interested in nature, trees, walking, celebrating local heritage and female activism on behalf of earth?
Walking Forest is a 10 year living artwork leading to the creation of an intentional woodland - inspired by the Batheaston Suffragette Arboretum - which will honour women activists and a ‘camino’ - a 100 mile walking route - which will connect this woodland and Batheaston.
Walking Forest artists Ruth, Shelley, Anne-Marie and Lucy return on Monday Dec 15th and would love to share updates with you about the 10 year living artwork connecting women, activism and trees and what has happened since some of us met in Batheaston Village Hall a year ago.
We’d love to hear about your favourite local spots and walking routes and how you might like to be involved in the run up to the project’s completion in 2028 - the centenary of the women’s right to vote.
Bring a contribution to a shared, vegetarian ‘pot luck’ lunch which we’ll have at 1.15pm.
Lunch will be followed between 2-3pm by a gentle, practical ‘hands on’ sewing session with The Honouring Cloth, which has recently returned from COP Climate Talks in Brazil.
The Honouring Cloth is stitched by people around the world to honour our care for nature and other species and will be central to celebrations in 2028.
